Reconstruction of the Scarpa advert from a few years ago. Warning, I have not climbed this route.

I have been warned. How d'you do it then?
Dave Foster - 09/Nov/10
Held most of the ab rope round the arete with my left leg and cloned out the rest in Photoshop.

Unlike a lot of the photos that used to appear in the climbing mags ( maybe still do? ), at least you're being honest about how you got this shot. ;)

howd you manage to pose without a cheeky grin on your face?? :) lovely shot
tallsop - 13/Nov/10
In reply to tallsop, I think I was too scared of running into someone who'd ask me what I was doing on the day I captured this. I did have a cheeky grin when I got home and looked at what I'd manage to cature though.

Thanks to everyone for voting, this is my first time in the top 10, a long held ambition.

what is the point in this, read the alpinist article about the guy taking the photos with the old style tripod and hood style in south america and then tell me this is a good photo.

that wasnt a comment on mark by the way, more on the fact it is in the top ten with honest commentary on photoshopping. I just find this bit strange being a point and shoot man.

Just seen the original blown up. It may be a printing error, but does he have painted green finger nails on it? Nice copy, I don't see a problem with PS so long as it's stated.

I've never seen anyone climb it using that right hand hold. It makes the route harder!

I feel like the bird poo should have been photo shopped out. Was very distracting for me. Keep thing... Go for the poo.... No don't go for it. It might not have crusted yet!
