This was a while ago - the snow/ ice has melted quite a bit and the Nantillons (out of frame below) is now a bit hairy I gather...
But you can't beat the juxtaposition of awesome mountains, great views, good food, uphill transport, cheap wine... I could go on....

Wonderful photo of a particularly dramatic part of the Cham aiguilles- especially the Ryan-Lochmatter ridge coming down from the Plan, and the 2 snowfields of the N face of the Pain du Sucre. Thank you for posting this.

Thanks! Pretty magic day all round. Right down to running for the last 'phrique at Plan de l'Aiguille. Which they were kind enough to hold for a few moments... Can't for the life of me remember why we didn't go to Montenvers as we had certainly gone up that way...
