It was the farmer's caravan who is doing up the cottage near the Climber's Club hut. As far as I know, he was in it at the time!

Dave Dear: I don't think it was the farmer's one. This was the layby next to the Cromlech boulders, and it had been parked in there. There was somebody in it as he called the Police, and therefore MR, to help...

Strange coincidence! Because the farmer's caravan ended up in the stream nearby sometime in November!
