A real shame the tail is cut off the chopper!!
A great capture though!!

yeah its just how far i was away! The shot before was in frame but they moved closer on the up winch. Fixed lens and no way of moving backwards. Very efficient rescue with a huge crowd.

I don't know about that... I think it doesn't matter, and even adds to the photo in a way...
jon - 19/Oct/09
No, that doesn't matter, but what is annoying is the exhaust fumes blurring the action. But that's life, so to speak.
Sean Kelly - 19/Oct/09
I rather like the exhaust fumes, the power to keep that thing aloft is rather large.
mr rob - 19/Oct/09
But in fact the fumes/heat haze isn't blurring the action. The figures are clear with the haze behind, which to me, enhances it.

Love it, full of drama, the expression on the winchman and the rescued person brings this photo to life !

The photo has captured a moment. Life isn't perfect so why should we expect photos of it to be !!

Indeed, our lives will never be flawless. Yet we strive to perfect them anyway....

This is most excellent, Mr Rob!
