These were superb conditions and still the direct finish was far far too wet and slimy to attempt... though, to my second's dismay it was seriously and stupidly considered. Odell's original Chimney finish, regarded by Crocket as the hardest is tricky, especially on the move back left at the top, but is fairly well protected and can be found on the left wall. It provides a superb climax to an epic route. Bell's easier Wall variation (VS4b) also lies on the left wall but did not look quite as interesting. Good luck to anyone with the mental fortitude to attempt that direct finish - it appears to warrant the grade 'chuffing hard'.
