Love this photo, it's a great celebration of British climbing. Scary trad, dodgy gear, lichenous rock, remote location, spoddy old helmet, scruffy clothes, glasses, stubble, chalk and fear everywhere...
Screw all that Euro-limestone sun-bronzed posing nonsense, this is where it's at :)

looks like when he falls the rope will hook behind his right leg. Potential for inversion?

Great pic Adam. Thanks for posting it. Think Fiend summed it up pretty good!

I have always loved this pic from when i first saw it on the front of some mag, but according to fiend its uncool to wear a t shirt over a long sleeve shirt.

The best climbing magazine cover ever? Way better than that shot of Rikki Ishoy any day...! Thanks for uploading this Adam.

Yes, could well the best magazine cover ever. Apart from the difficulty of the climb (and the fashion faux pas) the identification factor is overwhelming.
Thanks for posting this.

Fiend, you nailed the description perfectly. Adam, what a stunning picture, captures everything I hold dear about climbing.

A truly great picture, which every trad leader will appreciate. Many thanks for sharing it with us. Hope you were able to go back and successfully complete the route.

This is one of the best climbing pictures I have ever seen. This must stir memories and emotions in all climbers.

Is that really E8 5c or should it be E8 6c?
