Brings something original to the cliched boulder shot - 5*
Doesnt look like you have messed with it much - wouldnt mind seeing it the the figues brightened a bit and maybe the top bit cropped or saturated - it just kind of fades out - but still a wonderful shot :o)

Agree - crop top quarter - lovely tree's.

Great capture, just wandering how it would be with a figure climbing the rock on the right ?

Can't agree with the suggestions, I'm afraid. A figure on the righthand buttress would just be a distraction from the current, subtle subject - the boulderers on Deliverence. And I think the upper part of the shot adds to the balance and the mysterious landscape. If only the guy climbing and the guy in red had swapped jumpers, it would be 6! But it is still one of the most unusual and atmospheric shots posted here for a while. Now Tansy, about that pint you promised...

Sublime. Magic, magic conditions, and nice capture of it.
Jon Read - 18/Jan/09
Cool! Very cool I imagine?
Sean Kelly - 19/Jan/09
Yes well done

Thanks so much for all the positive feedback. We won't call ourselves photographers, just tried to record the conditons that were special that day. The sun never made it through to make the frost light up and we were wrapped in a blanket of visibly cold air all day. Bouldering was certainly feasible though - quite a few out clearing their hangovers.
By the way the Canon powershot camera has now died. Any suggestions of what to replace it with? It's been suggested Canon IXUS 970IS or Canon G10. Anyone rate these?

Buy an SLR instead if you care about quality.

Neil Foster - Totaly agree with you ! what was I thinking, doh ! It would totally distract from the main subject of the photograph.
mr mills - 03/Feb/09
