Official Kendal Mountain Festival Trailer 2012

Here it is! The official new KMF Trailer 2012, crafted by Alastair Lee of Posing Productions. If this doesn't get you excited about the forthcoming Festival then nothing will.

WideBoyz - World Premiere

Filmmakers Paul Diffley and Chris Alstrin documented Tom Randall and Pete Whittaker's 'wide boyz' trip to the States, the story of two climbers who searched out the widest, dirtiest and hardest offwidths that this planet has to offer. The journey, the training, the routes and the failures – the whole story, no holds barred. It's not about the grade, it's about the experience and when it comes to The Wide the experience is the same for everyone.

Push It

'Push It' is the story of filmmaker Jen Randall and Jackie Sequeira preparing for their first ever big wall - El Capitan in Yosemite, which doesn't go smoothly. Along the way, Jen visits some of her climbing heroines for inspiration, including Mina Leslie-Wujastyk bouldering in Magic Wood, Natalie Berry sport climbing in Malham and local hero Vicki Mayes trad climbing in Dunkeld. After two years in the making, overcoming broken bones, awful weather, a lack of funds and several crisis of confidence, 'Push It' is a film about testing your limits and chasing your dreams - you'll never regret going after them.

Autana

Adventure climber Leo Houlding and film maker Alastair Lee are back with another sumptuous production of truly epic proportions. This time Leo (UK) and fellow climbers Sean Leary (USA) and Jason Pickles (Salford) head deep into the Amazon in an attempt to make the first ascent of the east face of the remote tepu; Cerro Autana.
The action beings with a covert journey via military check-points and secret ports through Amazonas State. Our team of clandestine climbers disguised as tourists travel down the Orinoco River to the remote village of Ceguera where they make a traumatic psychotropic visit to the local Shaman to gain access to the sacred mountain.
From here sweltering humidity, porter chaos and an assortment of jungle nastiest are just a part of this spectacular journey of self-discovery and big wall hunting. Follow our team of redoubtable characters as they find their way up the jungle infested rock face as they are amazed not only at the climbing but a luxury wall camp in the incredible Autana Cave system just below the summit of the Tepu (highest elevated cave system in the world).
An adventure unlike any other, adventure film making takes another step into the unknown with superb results. Original, experimental, entertaining and visually stunning.

The Freedom Chair

Josh Dueck was an aspiring skier and coach until a ski accident in 2004 changed his life for good. After coming to the realization that he would never walk again, Josh made a conscious decision to make the best of a terrible situation. Within 1 year he was back on snow doing what he loved, and shortly after, his determination took him to the top of the podium in the sport of sit-skiing.

Tempting Fear - European Premiere

Inside the mind of extreme skier - Andreas Fransson. TEMPTING FEAR is the latest film from Mike Douglas (Switchback Entertainment and renown Salomon athlete) with footage primarily filmed by Bjarne Sahlén, Fransson's longtime friend and expedition partner.
Fransson, the Chamonix-based, Swedish extreme skier and alpinist made the first descent of Denali's south face in May 2011, is the subject of this jarring and provocative new film.

Pam Island

What Happened on Pam Island is a love story between two Polish alpinists on an extraordinary expedition. Their goal is to climb Maujit Qaqarssuasia on the uninhabited Pam Island in Greenland, which, at over 1,500 meters (around 5,100 feet), is the world's highest, near-vertical sea cliff. To get there, they need to cross eerie, storm-ridden oceans in kayaks, where capsizing in freezing waters would mean almost-certain death. Eliza Kubarska and David Kaszlikowski filmed the expedition to capture not just the feats of mountaineering, but also their own beautiful (and complicated) romance. This original climbing film reveals new motivation to conquer the unclimbed: a kiss at the top.

Capetown

Capetown, a short film telling the story of pup, Capetown, in her 1st season racing in the ancient Cumbrian sport of hound trailing. Shot over 9 months it gives an insight to the passion and dedication of a special group of mountain people and their 4 legged friends.
