Equip Outdoor Technologies UK Ltd specialise in the design and marketing of technical outdoor clothing and equipment. Our experienced and enthusiastic team develop innovative designs, manufactured to the highest standard and brought to market throughout the world. Equip Outdoor Technologies own and operate two leading aspirational outdoor brands Rab and Lowe Alpine.
One of the keys to our success is that retail staff have the knowledge and expertise to talk to customers with confidence about our brands, products and services and that our products are prominently displayed in stores. To aid this we are looking for an outdoor enthusiast who understands our products and customers and has the ability and presentation skills to inspire retail staff with our brand message and product knowledge. You will also have a commercial understanding of the competitive outdoor retail environment and what it takes to make a brand successful within it.
As one of our field-based representatives you will travel extensively throughout the territory. You will be visiting key accounts where you will be responsible for the motivation and training of retail personnel. Your goal will be to promote the values of both of our brands and the technical specification of the products, as well as develop excellent lasting working relationships. You will also be required to attend events to help our customers connect with the brands on a personal level.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well organised and a great communicator. You may already be working in outdoor retail or elsewhere within the outdoor industry and will be passionate about the outdoors. You may have a background in Sales, Training and/or Teaching. The role involves regular travel away from home to cover the large territory, as well as regular visits to the Equip head office in Alfreton. This role also involves weekend work at trade shows, training courses and events.
The exact territory boundary to be covered will be determined partly by the home location of the successful candidate who will ideally be located in the North, preferably North West, of England.
It is essential you have a current full driving licence and the right to work in the UK as both will be verified prior to appointment.
In return we offer a competitive salary, pension, life assurance and company vehicle (VW Transporter van), great staff discounts on our products and a wide range of reciprocal trade discounts on climbing, bikes, camping, sailing and running equipment. We have a casual dress code and we operate an open and friendly company with a relaxed environment, but we work hard to get the job done.
