Overview

An exciting new position within our marketing department, this role is responsible for interacting with and developing our growing community of followers, supporters and customers.  It will involve innovative collaborations with our Pro Team athletes, ambassadors, partner brands, media outlets and event hosts to expand our reach and presence.  You will leverage our owned social media channels to further increase our brand outreach and influence.  This is an immersive and highly rewarding career opportunity and we're looking for someone with energy, initiative and charisma, as well as a natural flair for networking and brand story-telling.

Jöttnar produces premium technical clothing for mountain sports. We are a young Cardiff-based company, building a high performing team and delivering ambitious growth plans.

Key Duties

  • Manage and develop the social content output across all our owned channels, ensuring it aligns with the Jöttnar strategy, campaigns and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with aligned brands, ambassadors and advocates to increase our reach.
  • Manage press and media outreach, from product reviews to proactive PR.
  • Identify and deliver trade events and brand-specific spectaculars.
  • Collaborate with our Pro Team athletes to provide expedition support and content activation.

Skills & Experience

  • Highly effective organic social media operator and fluent in content marketing.
  • Experience of developing and implementing results-driven social media strategy and campaigns. Knowledge of how to market and communicate to specific audiences across all mainstream social media channels and able to evaluate the results through metrics and insights.
  • Confident communicator with a high standard of written English.
  • Confident in the use of video across social media channels.  Experience creating and editing video would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Confident exploring innovative ways of delivering content.
  • Ability to identify, activate and manage brand ambassadors and advocates.
  • Ability to identify and successfully pitch to suitable press and media partners.
  • Ability to identify and deliver aligned trade show and event opportunities.
  • Ability to identify and execute brand spectaculars, in collaboration with Pro Team athletes and advocates.
  • An active outdoor sports enthusiast, familiar with landscape and culture of our sector.

Remuneration, Benefits and Conditions

  • Annual salary: £35,000 to £40,000 p/a, depending on experience.
  • Pension.

  • 25 working days paid holiday per year, in addition to normal bank and public holidays.
  • Free on-site gym.

Our Cardiff office will be your formal place of work, and where your initial training will take place, although a degree of home-based working can be negotiated on completion of your probationary period.  Our office is located a mile away from the sea and within a 10-minute walk of the city centre.  The Brecon Beacon mountains are within a 30-minute drive and the renowned sea cliff climbing of the Gower and the south coast are within easy reach.  The mountain bike trail centres of Cwmcarn and Afan are within 30 and 50 minutes respectively.
