Full stack C#/jQuery developer - Summer in Chamonix (or remote) Jobs

© Ben Tibbetts

  • Must have experience with both C# and jQuery to help us maintain several web applications.
  • 28 hours per week
  • Approximately 6 months: July to December 2023 ... but dates are flexible for the right person

For the rest of 2023, the French branch of Icon Software is seeking developers to join our small, dynamic team based at the foot of Mont-Blanc in the Chamonix valley. We will also consider candidates who prefer to work remotely in the UK or France. This is a flexible part-time role, working 28 hours per week, so you can make the most of your free time.

Depending on our requirements later in the year we may offer you a permanent position.

About us

Icon Software develops bespoke desktop, mobile and web applications. Founded in 2009 and initially providing software to the oil and gas sector, Icon has since diversified into a range of markets including agriculture, online training courses and business intelligence applications. Our systems are used twenty-four hours a day by multinational oil companies, air traffic controllers, weather forecasters, mariners, farmers and scientists. They enable safe helicopter landings on hundreds of oil rigs around the world, prevent vessels colliding at sea, track antibiotic use throughout the UK farming industry and even guide self-driving robots through hospitals!

We are based in a small, friendly office in Les Houches, full of people who love the mountains: climbers, skiers, cyclists and trail runners.

Requirements

You will be helping to maintain and develop several web applications which are written in C# (backend) and jQuery (frontend). You should have substantial experience programming in both languages.

Part-time working

You will be working 28 hours per week. Hours are usually flexible so you can make the most of good weather days.

Salary

3,000 - 3,500 euros per month gross, depending on experience.

Brexit

We are seeking candidates of any nationality but those with a UK passport will require a residence permit or visa to work in France. Without this you could still work remotely from the UK.

Benefits (working in France)

  • Temporary French employment contract (CDD)
  • Paid leave on bank holidays
  • Supplementary pension
  • Supplementary medical insurance
  • Supplementary death and disability insurance

Accommodation

If necessary we can assist you with finding rental accommodation.

How to apply

Please email ben@icon.software attaching your CV and details of when you would be able to start.

You may be given a short programming challenge to be carried out remotely. This should take around 2-3 hours. We will also catch up via Teams to explain the projects.

We are hoping to make a decision by the end of May so please don't delay!

Closing Date: 31st May
