Finance Manager – Beta Outdoor Sports

Who we are.

Celebrating our 20th birthday at the end of 2022, Beta Outdoor Sports is a trading name of Beta Climbing Designs. As a result of one too many ankle injuries, our Founder, Simona Berry went on to develop the first commercially available clip stick and thus began Beta Climbing Designs. Over the last 20 years that first clip stick has evolved into a product range that offers leading remote reach solutions to both climbers and those working at height in the commercial environment. Our products are now distributed worldwide and continue to be at the forefront of innovation.  

Fast forward to 2023, Beta Climbing Designs has grown into Beta Outdoor Sports. Split into 3 distinct sectors (Climb, Run and Setting) Beta Outdoor Sports distributes products from some of the best climbing hold producers, running and climbing brand drawn from companies around the globe.

The role and its responsibilities.

Ensure compliance with Accounting Codes of Practice is achieved and maintained. Act in accordance with Financial Regulations, Standing Orders, Financial Instructions, procedures and guidelines at all times.

• Produce accurate, monthly, financial reports for senior management team.
• Manage cash flow and currency purchasing.
• Carry out reconciliation of bank accounts and allocation of payments.
• Manage PAYE process.
• Manage purchase to pay process.
• Complete credit control tasks.
• Work with the sales team in the production of sale reports and completion of margin analysis.
• Submission of quarterly VAT return.
• Attend appropriate employment seminars and other training events to keep up to date with payroll/ financial legislation.
• Assist our Accountancy firm in the submission of our year end filing.
• Assist customers and suppliers with financial queries.

Who we are looking for.

A seasoned finance professional with 5 years + experience working in similar Finance Manager roles, who thinks analytically, has great attention to detail and is happy to question the status quo. Ideally the individual in question will have experience of working across multiple currencies within a import/export setting.

Hours of work and location.

Monday to Friday 0900 – 1700

In the short term the role will require daily attendance to our office in Sheffield, S8, however once the new Finance Manager is fully integrated within the business there will be the opportunity for flexible working location.
