Naylor's run will take him from Caldbeck in the far north of the National Park to his home in Wasdale, a distance of nearly 50km.

"I'm running in memory of my father, Joe Naylor, who was born in Caldbeck and moved to Wasdale in 1927" he says.

"This run also marks my 80th birthday and is raising funds to help some of the most disadvantaged children & young people in the UK."

"The route I'll follow is: Caldbeck - Park Head - Branthwaite/Fell Side - Laal Scafell - Knott - Great Calva - Skiddaw House - Little Town - Dale Head Tarn - Honister - Grey Knotts - Gillercombe - Base Brown - Sty Head - St. Olaf's Church - Middle Row - pack-horse bridge - Bowderdale - Low Greendale."

He is raising money for the Brathay Trust, a charity that works with disadvantaged young people - see JustGiving
