According to the Mountain Bothies Association the old Camasunary bothy on Skye has suffered major storm damage, and should not be used. Since the replacement new bothy here is yet to open there is effectively no bothy for the time being.

Around a quarter of the old bothy's tin roof sheets have been blown off, say the MBA, along with some of the timbers.

Due to the possibility of further sheets becoming detached, they say the accommodation should not be used until emergency repairs are carried out.

Though it was built in 2014 the new bothy at Camasunary is still locked. The MBA hope to have it open later in the spring.
