The Outdoor Show

The Telegraph Outdoor Show will be taking place later this week. As well as the SuperBloc (reported here on UKClimbing) there will be a number of other attractions to lure you along to this year's event, including a range of free Masterclasses from DMM, some bargains from Rockfax and a selection of high profile speakers on the Climb and Adventure Stage.

DMM Masterclasses

DMM have teamed up with the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) to bring you free workshops at The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show designed to sharpen your outdoor skills and help you make the most of your next climbing trip. All workshops will be run by fully qualified Mountain Instructors and members of the AMI, the representative body for all professionally qualified Mountain Instructors in the UK and Ireland.

Trust Your Anchor – Gear Placement & Rope Work

1 hour & 6 places per session (Fri/Sat/Sun).
Place the perfect nut or select the best cam. Learn the dark art of traditional climbing protection and how best to use it.
Who is it for? Novice climbers wishing to place nuts and cams with confidence and arrange a safe belay. The workshop will be ground based and practical. All gear supplied.

Now Get Out of That! – Escaping the System

1 hour & 6 places per session (Fri/Sat/Sun).
Lock off your belay plate, escape the system etc. with lots of top tips and handy hints from the experts. If you have ever got to a stance and said “I hope that will work” then this is for you. Ground based advice about slick rope work and tangle free climbing and what do to if things don’t go according to plan.
Who is it for? Intermediate climbers who have climbed outside before. All gear supplied.

Perfect Pick Placement

1 hour & 4 places per session (Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun).
Modern winter climbing has evolved from a niche activity into a fast-moving popular sport. This workshop looks at the latest techniques on mixed and ice in a controlled setting using the latest tools. The workshop will be under the expert guidance of a Mountaineering Instructor Certificate (MIC) holder i.e. someone who is qualified to climb ice for a living! All gear supplied.
Who is it for? Climbers with some previous experience of ice axes who would like to learn some of the insider knowledge to make snow and ice climbing slicker and safer.

Is the superbloc being streamed?
14 Feb, 2015
I overheard this being discussed at the show earlier today and the answer then was that there would not be any live streaming but there might well be some videos posted afterwards. If plans have changed or I heard things wrong, I'm sure someone will be along the correct me.

-) DMM have some stunning offers (e.g. 3 Dragon cams for £100) and their stand was doing a roaring trade today. Jottnar are also there and have some good prices on their kit.

That's a shame, but thanks for the answer mark. Hopefully there will be unedited footage rather than the usual highlights reel.
