The latest addition to the British Mountain Maps family has arrived. Schiehallion, Ben Lawers & Glen Lyon is the thirteenth in this award-winning series.

Within the area of highland Perthshire covered by the map are 27 Munros, 15 Corbetts and four Grahams, including some of the most popular summits in Scotland.
British Mountain Maps are published by Harvey Maps in conjunction with the BMC, and are designed especially for climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers. For instance, there's none of the extraneous detail such as county boundaries that can clutter OS maps. The 1:40,000 scale maps use colour contour shading for easy identification of hills and valleys, and are printed on lightweight, tear-resistant and waterproof polyethylene.
The reverse side of each map contains mountain incident and first aid advice, navigation tips, useful visitor information, climbing topos and geological information provided by the British Geological Survey. The reverse of the Schiehallion map also includes a 1:40,000 map extension of Ben Chonzie (for anyone who's climbed the hundreds of better Scottish hills and feels desperate for a change).
The British Mountain map series seems to be the Marmite of the cartographic world, polarising opinion into loving or loathing. But it certainly has its fans.
