On Sunday afternoon Edale Mountain Rescue Team along with Buxton MRT were called to an incident in the upper reaches of Crowden Brook which leads onto Kinder Scout.
A woman from Cornwall had slipped while descending the Brook after a day's walk and had fallen approximately 20ft sustaining back and head injuries. Due to the location and possible injuries an RAF Sea King helicopter was requested which arrived on scene shortly after team members. After treatment by one of the team's paramedics they were winched onto Rescue 128 and flown to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. The casualty was found to be suffering from a number of fractured vertebra, ribs and a skull fracture. All the injuries are non life threatening and she is currently recovering in hospital.
