Nick Smith Wins Best Climbing Photo at Kendal

©
UKClimbing.com's own Nick Smith won the best action photo in the Kendal Mountain Film Festival's Photo competition, sponsored by the Westmorland Gazette. As well as being the person who writes the code, hosts the servers and manages the day to day technical side of UKClimbing.com Nick is also embarking on a new career as a professional photographer, you can see lots of his excellent photography in the Rockfax publications Eastern Grit and the forthcoming Sport Climbing+, and at his UKClimbing.com gallery.

His winning entry was of Ruby Robinson on Gargoyle Flake (VS 4c) at Bamford Edge and can be seen at the Kendal Mountain Film Festival's website or click on the left thumbnail image. We did know that it was a winner though as it has averaged 5 stars out of 168 votes at UKClimbing.com.

Peter Dobson won the best landscape photo with his photo of a tree in a grike near Ingleborough which you can view here
