Why a new specialist independent climbing shop... and why in the Chew Valley....?
The aim of The Crag Station is simple......to have the best range of rock shoes, bouldering gear, rock hardware and cragging clothing that you'll be able to find between Manchester and Leeds.
The Crag Station is not a general outdoor shop, it is a dedicated climbing shop....run by climbers for other climbers. It doesn't matter if your passion is bouldering, winter climbing, alpine, trad, sport or indoor.....if you are a climber, The Crag Station is the shop for you.
The shop is set up to serve the Peak district edge of Manchester and West Yorkshire area: Glossop up to Saddleworth, and Oldham, Bury & Rochdale across to Huddersfield and down to Holmfirth. The Crag Station offers the combination of carefully selected products with experienced staff that can only be found these days in a handful of specialist shops across the county. Great gear, good choice, some good deals and a wealth of friendly advice and experience.
Who We Are?
The shop is run by three active, locally based, climbers: Phil Sneyd (ex Paul Braithwaite's), Stuart MacKay (ex Nick Estcourt's) and Tim Dorsett (ex Urban Rock). Between them they have a massive amount of experience in the outdoor trade, the local Chew Valley and wider Peak scene, as well as climbing elsewhere in Europe and the US.
What We Stock?
The Crag Station brands are 5.10, La Sportiva, Evolv, Boreal, DMM, Petzl, Metolius, AustriAplin, Moon, Snap, prAna, blurr and E9.
Where We Are ?
The shop is located in Greenfield village, at the gateway to the Chew Valley and its crags. There is free parking directly outside and the shop is open all weekend and evenings midweek.
