More About Hangar 18 ORR

The team has a huge knowledge of outdoor gear manufacturing and retailing. Linked together by a passion for Fell Running, the team also indulges in orienteering  climbing, bouldering, skiing and snowboarding the mountains all around the world.

Our product focus is on functionality, we have quickly seen that there are gaps in the market for products that are actually tested in the environment they are to perform in, at a cost effective price. We put a lot of focus on testing our products prior to production, the 380 down sleeping bag was tested for 2 years before going to production, we want to get it right first time. We have a grass routes policy we really believe [ not lip service ] in this is shown by our support to Rock Climbing , Climb North East Crankfest competition, Dorset Youth Climbing Acedemy and Exeter Climbing club to name a few of our growing supporters.

We are based in England's last wilderness, the North Pennines, which give us great testing facilities on our doorstep, nothing like a run across remote moorland to Goldsborough Carr for a boulder session. We are all active in the Mountains just about every day, passionate about our sport and our products. Keep your eye on our website for real innovative products coming up.

Top gear this, i have been using lots of the prototype kit and loved everything that has got through to the website, and some stuff that is on the way. The sleeping bag here is brilliant at 480g. Keep a look at the website for new stuff - when the mountain waterproof jacket comes on there, buy one, it weighs nothing and has kept me dry in everything for 2 years. Andy

they have just updated their facebook to say this... BTW we have a Grass Routes policy not Grass Roots, no it is not a spelling mistake just a take on Climbing Routes, Running Routes, etc, etc. Well we thought it was funny . Guess it's just their weird sense of humor. http://www.facebook.com/H18ORR
