Fun and Fear on Crib GochFri Night Vid

Crib Goch - for some it's an easy romp, but for others - even some hugely accomplished hillwalkers - the airy traverse of this spectacular rock arete can prove a gripping experience.

Scottish hill film maker Robin Wallace is joined by his friend Anne Butler for a cross-border raid south on the Welsh 3000ers. They save the best til last with the Snowdon Horseshoe. But faced with the exposure on the crest of Crib Goch, and route finding uncertaintly on the pinnacles, arguably the crux of the route, they get "a bit of a fright".

Hardly a newcomer to hillwalking, Anne is President of the Munro Society, and a frequent contributor to UKHillwalking, but if even she and Robin can have a wobble on this grade 1 scramble then it clearly pays not to take it for granted.

"I've tried to give a good realistic perspective of what to expect from Crib Goch" says Robin.
