His is the second fastest BGR after Kilian Jornet's time 12hrs 52mins. George Foster becomes the first Brit, and only the second person, to come in under Billy Bland's legendary time of 13hrs 53mins, the record that stood from 1982 until beaten by Jornet in 2018.

Local photographer Tom McNally was on hand to capture the event:

Awesome scenes in Keswick this evening as @g.run.foster charged down from the tops to record a blistering Bob Graham...

Agree 100%. Well done to the lad but there's only one record that matters with the BGR

Is it so missleading? It says quite clearly in the title, and in the first sentence, that it is the British record. I don't think it's being political or denigrating 'johnny foreigner' either, it is simply stating that this is the fastest time by a brit. Is it really something to get worked up about?

No. If he'd run the fastest time ever and we'd headlined it British Record then you might have a point.

I can't believe anyone would think UKC was Brexity, this must be one of the most left-leaning bubbles on the internet :p Some people just like being outraged I suppose.
