Film: The Himalayas From 20,000 Feet

A short but spectacular flight from the teeming streets of Kathmandu to the dream peak of Ama Dablam, this is 'the first ultra HD footage of the Himalayas shot from above 20,000 ft', according to aerial filming experts at Teton Gravity Research.

It was made using some very advanced gyro-stabilized camera system, apparently, and filmed from a helicopter at altitudes of up to 24,000 feet - with a bit of help from supplementary oxygen, naturally.

'These are some of the most stable, crisp, clear aerial shots of these mountains ever released, which include Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse' say Teton Gravity Research.

That's it, we're booking our own flight today...
