Over the year the team attended 58 incidents, surpassing the previous record of 55 callouts in 2012.

On the team's Facebook page Deputy Team Leader Kath Jackson said:

'The pattern of callouts this year has been a bit like buses – we have had long quiet spells then several incidents at once.'

'The vast majority of people that we help are well equipped, responsibly enjoying the outdoors and have simply been unfortunate.'

'We in the Kendal team, along with our Mountain Rescue colleagues across the Lake District and the country, work hard to ensure we are always ready to respond when we are needed, whether in the mountains or elsewhere, and we are very grateful to the public whose generous support allows us to maintain our voluntary service 24 hours a day throughout the year.'
