On Friday 26th April a group of 12 'blokes' will set out to walk the 87-mile length of the Ridgeway in aid of a local charity.
The 'Ridgeway Rabble' plan to take three days to cover the long distance trail, which runs from Avebury in Wiltshire to Ivinghoe Beacon near Luton and follows the course of prehistoric routes along the area's chalk ridges.
The money is being raised for a charity of personal significance to friends of the team, the Reading Stillbirth Fund.
So far the Rabble has exceeded its expectations by raising over £4000, but they say that of course any further donations would be gratefully recieved - as would any tips on avoiding blisters [have they read this recent UKH article? Ed.].
