Two major expeditions are going ahead in 2010:

Baffin Big Walls is an expedition to make the first ascent of an unclimbed peak and big wall in the Stewart Valley, Baffin Island, Nunavut Territories in Canada.

The team is Mike Twid Turner, Stu McAleese and Mark Thomas and they are travelling to Baffin in may.

They have a website for the expedition, with a blog, here: baffinbigwalls.com

The other major British expedition and perhaps one of the biggest objectives for a British team in recent years is the 2010 British Annapurna III Expedition.

Jon Bracey, Matt Helliker, and Nick Bullock are off to attempt the unclimbed southeast ridge of Annapurna III (7555m) in April and May of this year. Alpinist Magazine proposed this ridge as one of the greatest unclimbed objectives in the world and it was this article in Alpinist 4 that has in part inspired the team to attempt the ridge (see photo from the team's blog).

The team will be blogging from base camp and have been updating their new blog already with some pre expedition training news.

UKC wishes both teams the best of luck!
