At £2 for a return ticket, and with a choice of four outward times (9:30, 11:30, 14:30 and 16:30) and four return times (10:30, 12:30, 15:30 and 18:00), it sounds like good value and a great way of avoiding the parking chaos that usually occurs at Stanage and Burbage on busy weekends.
The service was first introduced in 1999 and ran for two years when it was discontinued because too few people were using it. In 1999 the number of passengers averaged 6.5 per bus journey and in 2000 this rose to 7.4. It was closed in the Summer of 2001 during the Foot and Mouth crisis.
Hopefully this new more extensive service will prove to be more popular.
