New North Face of the Eiger speed solo record

Ever since 1983, when the Austrian Thomas Bubendorfer scaled the classic '38 route on the north face of the Eiger in 4 hours and 50 minutes, the record has remained unbeaten. That is, until March 24 this year. Whilst many ascents take several days, Cristoph Hainz took advantage of the good conditions on the wall managed to scale the route in 4 hours and 30 minutes. He is a very experienced mountaineer and has made many firsts from the first winter ascent to the Solleder-Lettembauer in the Civettato to a new line on Shivling.
