Mountain routes introduce a whole range of extra considerations such as longer approaches, more serious weather, condition of routes, drying out periods, aspect of crags, longer days and less frequented crags – against that a day on a mountain crag can give memorable ascents with the “full package” of a fantastic feeling away from the world below, views over the surrounding fells, intricate route finding and reliance on yourselves.
