A short walk off the beaten track in the backwater of the Cleish Hills on the Fife / Kinross border. With good views of the Lomonds and Ochils, this route visits various interesting volcaninc knobbles and a couple of secluded little lochs. Bring wellies or gaiters.

Detailed description
1
NT1000195491 From the forestry gate the track runs into dense pine woods. Ignore a left-hand turn off. The track soon curves right to reach a small dam at Loch Glow. On busy weekends there'll be a lot of fishermen parked here and sat along the loch shore.
2
NT0941095726 Follow a soggy path along the south shore. Stay with the water's edge around to the far end of the loch (plank bridges span the worst bits of bog). Here there's a drystone wall. Follow this west-ish over wet open ground, passing just left of Black Loch in its hidden hollow beneath the broken rocks of Dumglow. Beyond the loch cut right to climb towards Windy Gap, a col under Dumglow's steep western flank. Stay just right of the lowest point of the col.
3
NT0738696426 Climb a fence via a stone stile, then ascend Dumglow head-on (rough and more or less path-free). There's a concrete trig point on top, and an extensive view. The summit is the site of an ancient promontory fort, and the defensive earthworks can still be seen.
4
NT0759996499 Follow the high ground heading east-ish on a path through the grassy hummocks to reach the forest boundary fence at a stile. From here the path ducks into the deep dark woods, running straight downhill to meet and follow a fire break. Soon the middle of the three knobbly Inneans peaks can be seen ahead. Escape the conifers and climb this steep little summit. From here you could quickly return to Loch Glow but it's better to head north instead to climb the lower, rockier peak of Dummiefarline with its open outlook north over Cleish.
5
NT0884996818 From Dummiefarline’s summit cairn descend roughly east on a feint path, passing through cow pastures just left of Lurg Loch to rejoin the Cleish road about 10 minutes’ walk from the car park. It's a nice peaceful bit of road walking unless the boy racers are out for a spin on their way home from Knock Hill.
