SK1410184200 A fast start turns left from the playing fields into a lane then right up the tarmac road. Through a gate into a narrow gully (bottleneck), then at the gated exit of the gully, turn right and climb up to the ridgeline under Back Tor. Contour the hillside through the plantation, before a final steep climb up steps to the summit of Lose Hill.

SK1530285383 Lose Hill summit. Head along the ridge, over Back Tor and Hollins Cross to the summit of Mam Tor. A mixture of flagstones, dirt path and some rock. The descent off Back Tor is steep & technical. As you climb up Mam Tor, watch out for high speed runners coming down!

SK1277283606 Mam Tor summit. Head back down the flagstones to Hollins Cross.

SK1359584521 Hollins Cross. Turn right here and descend steeply down stone steps & dirt trail to a narrow gully. Follow the tarmac road back to the playing fields and the finish.

Terrain:
Mixture of tarmac, good dirt trails and stepped flagstones on Lose Hill and Mam Tor. A few steep rocky sections, such as the descent off Back Tor, and down from Hollins Cross.
Seasonal variations:
Mostly accessible all year around, although the flagstones can become slippery when wet or icy. No bogs. The ridge from Lose Hill to Mam Tor is high up and doesn't offer any shelter from the wind or rain
