SK1719083905 Hope (Edale Road). Drinks. Along the road, before starting up Lose Hill.

SK1530585368 Lose Hill Summit. In 2012 the short cut across the field was removed, and competitors should stay on the ridge path from Lose Hill, going over the top of Back Tor.

SK1276583597 Mam Tor. Drinks at the road crossing 'Mam Nick' (historically there was a 2:30 hrs time limit for all competitors, extended to 2:45 hrs since 2012)

SK1099086844 Grindslow Knoll Top. Return to the Ringing Roger waypoint #1 and then down to the finish. Most competitors contour around the plateau, but a few brave souls will take the famous 'Down & Up', down to Grindsbrook (no path) then up Ringing Roger.

Start/Finish:
Field at the bottom of Grindsbrook, SK122862

Terrain:
A mixture of good dirt trails, very rocky & technical in places, and some pleasant sheep trods through the grass & heather. Some sections of flagstones, and only a short section of tarmac through Hope. Beware the wet bogs around Brown Knoll!

Seasonal variations:
Most of the route is high and exposed to any weather going. Kinder holds onto snow in the Winter, but the paths are well trodden, so there is usually a track to follow. Can be icy in places. The section around Brown Knoll is very wet & boggy in all but the driest of Summers.
