Western Black Mountains circular Walking

A circular walk starting and ending at a really nice pub that sells good food and drink for afterwards.
This route starts at Crickhowel, walking up to Crug Hywel (tabel mountain) to Pen Cerrig-calch. It then follows along the ridge line to Pen Twyn Glas, taking in Pen Allt-mawr on the way. This route has some spectacular views across to the Brecon Beacons. It is ended by a road walk with spectacular views across to the eastern black mountains.

SO225205 Table mountain was an iron age hill fort that was owned by Hywel Dda, a welsh Prince who created the law of Wales, social rules to free the common man from oppression by the Rich. The original home of the national assembly of Wales is named Ty Hywel in his honour. From here head straight up the obvious path to the summit of pen Cerrig-calch

SO2051824513 At Pen Allt-mawr take the steep decent down and over towards Pen Twyn Glas, keeping Cwm Bnaw on your right hand side.

SO2145625594 From Pen Twyn Glas head south east down towards farm land and eventually onto a road. Follow this road south back to the beginning of the route and a nice pint waiting in the pub.
