12.12 Trail running

As part of the Dig Deep Races - The 12.12 covers some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK. At around 12.12 miles the route takes in some of the finest trails in the Peak District.
The Route The route has been chosen because of its stunning scenery and the tough nature of the route. Whilst most of the route is on good tracks and Public Rights of Way it also crosses some tricky terrain where navigation skills may be needed. Whilst developing the race we have worked closely with local landowners and the Peak District National Park Authority to ensure that the race is sustainable and avoids sensitive areas. For this reason there are some strict route restrictions in place on some areas of the race. Please follow these wherever indicated. The route will be marked in most areas but in particularly poor conditions navigation may be necessary. Each person should be able to navigate, in poor conditions and in hostile weather. Please ensure you are well practiced! Sport ident dibbing stations will be in place along the route – each of these must be visited, and failure to do so will mean disqualification from the race. The race will part of a weekend of races to be held at Whirlow Hall Farm Trust in Sheffield (camping available). There will be several other races over the weekend. Who can take part? We have a minimum age of 18 but no maximum ages. The individual event will hold six categories – Senior Male, Senior Female, Veteran Male, Veteran Female, Veteran Male (over 50) and Veteran Female (over 50) (veteran = over 40). What facilities will there be? We will have food and drinks on site along with toilets and changing facilities. Camping is also available on site – please pre book. Registration: Kit List mandatory requirements Full body cover (windproof/waterproof) Compass and full route map Spare water and food Whistle
