This friendly local event attracts runners, walkers, mountain bikers and rock climbers to traverse 21 miles of the Peak District, past 9 gritstone crags...
The event has different categories for runners, hikers, mountain bikers and rock climbers. The climbers should climb one route of their choice on each of the 9 gritstone edges. This is normally done by hiking the 21 miles as a pair, with rope & rack, although some run/jog the route and solo the climbs! Note that the route shown here is NOT the biking one, and should only be used by walkers/runners.

A real mixture of well-maintained dirt paths, very rocky in places (Stanage), with a few grassy & boggy sections. The worst of the bogs is the small stream crossing just before reaching the A57 and checkpoint #1. The path is flagstones along sections above Dovestone Tor.
The trails used are generally good all year around, although some of the higher edges can have snow & icy sections in the Winter, especially Dovestone Tor (Derwent Edge).
