The landowners have expressed legitimate safety concerns with climbing in the gorge. The site contains a popular public road and the potential for passers-by to be hit by falling/dislodged rock is obvious. If you wish to climb or scramble in the pass, BMC advice is to limit visits to either very early or late in the day, midweek.

90m, 3 pitches. The broad ridge above the bend in the road, opposite Elbow Ridge. Start up steep grass/turf (or the small icefall to the right), continue up ledges then easy snow which connects the two upper buttresses. These are both taken by exposed deviations on the right, or direct at a higher grade. A good idea to avoid this route unless it's properly frozen as the rare plants on it are one of the reasons for the area's designation as an SSSI.
