About 400m of ascent along a ridge featuring a mix of blocky scrambles, snowslopes, an entertaining downclimb or abseil, narrow airy paths, grassy platforms, 'a cheval' snow ridges, and turfy cracks, depending on the prevailing snow conditions. Escapes from some technical moves are possible when under sound snow, or when bare. These escapes can be dangerous in poor snow conditions. A very worthwhile mountaineering outing, often blessed with spectacular views, near and far. - - - (Route down. In most conditions, the south side route back is safer. This route back can be made difficult by following a line of boulders below the ridge that may be tortuous when covered by snow. An option in bare condition, or well-consolidated snow cover, go to the lochan on the far side of Bealach Coire Mhalagain and head directly across the top of the corrie towards the bottom of the ridge. Under consolidated heavy snow cover, the north side can also offer a good route back to the bottom of the ridge. Always be aware of avalanche risk on the sides of the ridge)
