Craig Mead 25 Nov, 2019 - Took bike up to where out and back paths diverge, past Corryhully bothy. Took route clockwise. Snow and ice at very tops only and didn't impede progress. Good weather for time of year with views out to Rum and Skye.

Nettle 5 Nov, 2019 - Out to tick off a couple more Munros, this time a group I'd had my eyes on for ages, the Glenfinnan Group. It was a long drive up and I arrived after 12, but even with the short days I was confident I could get round, albeit with the assistance of my new head torch. I left the carpark and headed under the railway bridge and away from the Harry Potter Tourists. The road was metalled for about 4 1/2 km alongside the river and past a couple of houses. Turning into a track it steepened and then I broke track up Leachd an Coire Chuillinn. The stalkers path here was better than expected and would make a good descent. Occasionally zig-zagging, climbing onto the ridge and meandering through steeper sections, it eventually cut left and then steepened before popping out on Sgurr a'-Choire Rhaibhaich. A short easier run along the saddle left just a short climb up to the first Munro summit Sgurr nan Coireachan, 956m. I took a couple of snaps at the trig point, then headed off along the rocky ridge. This was made of 4 climbs with saddles in-between, around 4km overall. The rocky surface would maybe have suited trail shoes rather than fell shoes, but the ridge quickly gave way to the broad mass of Sgurr Thuilm, 963m. I chomped down a sausage roll as I climbed and eventually reached my second Munro summit of the day. Number 225 overall! It was a really fun descent, I picked up speed following the remains of the boundary fence. The ridge narrowed, then dropped steeply becoming boggier; maybe fell shoes were the right decision. Finally I was spat out onto the track, shortly after that I crossed the bridge over the Allt Coire Thollaidh and drank deep. I passed a couple of suspicious looking stags, the carried on along the track and then dropped again, passing where I'd left the track before and meeting the tarmac again. I pushed on as darkness fell and I put on the new head torch. Finally I was at Glenfinnan with the memorial lit and back to the van.
