Adders are frequently seen around Curbar. They are often very well camoflaged so it's worth keeping an eye out when moving into new areas, picking up kit etc as a bite, although not life threatening to most healthy adults can still be nasty.

Ticks are abundant due to a large population of red deer. take care, particularly if passing through bracken below the crag.

Rockfax Description
A Curbar rarity - as in not too tough at the grade. Twin cracks lead past blocks to steeper flaky cracks that are best tackled rapidly. Protection is good and pressing on is the best idea. © Rockfax

βeta: No really hard moves but very hard to not get boxed out of your mind placing gear, just built a bombshelter at the bottom of the big crack and then ran it out to the top. Quite hight dependant, 5.9 managed to just about reach everything but 5.4 really struggled

βeta: Def not low in grade, moves are never that hard but the steep pumpy upper section is quite difficult simply because stopping to place gear would probably result in a fall. Tried not to think about how low my gear was as i wrestled with the upper crack :-)

βeta: Anywhere else this would be a mid grade HVS... well apart from Yorkshire where it would be given HS
