Crag features

Opposite Raven Crag, Doves Nest was formed by a great rock face slipping downwards which now leans back against the rock face behind. The result is a crag that has a number of passages and cavities running throughout it! These passages have made Doves Nest well known.

There are 17 climbs in total ranging from D to E1, some of which take you through the cavities behind the rock slab.

Approach notes

Best (least boggy approach) is to cross the beck (Combe Gill) shortly after crossing the wall.  Ascend to the east to about 250 m and pick up a track then countours under Twa Hummocks

No Access Issues

Climb into Combe Gill but stay on the left hand side of the beck. The crag is the obvious clean outcrop of rock just to the left of the head of the combe. An hour from the road.
