Rocktype UNKNOWN
Altitude 2805m a.s.l
Faces N
The Northeast face is a short face (about 250 m high) with a few worthwile easier grade (F5-F5) climbs, good for Alpine rock beginners route. Easy, short approach.
The Southeast face is higher (300 m) and has harder routes (F6a-6b).
The Northwest face is a massive smooth ocean of granite, with only two obscure routes on it - apparently no central route has ever been done. Little is known, but looks spectacular.
Park at Bagni Masion and follow signs for the Omio hut (2hrs).
After reaching rifugi Omio a small path up the hill and left of the hut towards the Passo do Ligoncio, again marked with red/white/red paint. The Sfinge will become visible and a large painted sign will advise when to divert from the path, a short distance from the pass, to the base of the NE face (1.5hrs from hut).
