Summit of this hill

This summit is listed in Dartmoor Tors, Dartmoor Tors Compendium hill lists.

This summit has been climbed in 32 logbooks.

Hill features

This crag is a great place to go to get away from the crowds at Bonehill or just as somewhere different than the usual Dartmoor Hotspots.
It is a widely spread variety of unspoilt Granite boulders with beautiful views as far as Hay Tor.

If you're starting out, the Short Walls Sector here is particularly good. After a good long walk in go up to the summit and the climbs start around there. For the Short Walls Sector, keep on going right down to the trees.

Approach notes

From the back of Bonehill Rocks, take the path North upto Bell Tor and continue upto the summit then on down the dip (great view of the tor from here) and up the other side to come to Honeybag Tor itself (about 20 mins).

Fantastic spot - beautiful location away from the crowds, great circuits up to V5. See www.javu.co.uk for topos and some pics (and other v useful South West info).
