Hill features

The Tor is one of Dartmoors more remote venues. At this altitude in Devon it is rarely in good condition. The North Face requires a dry spell and a breeze to be pleasant climbing. The climbing is often between rounded breaks so Friends are vital. Good views

At present (June 2019) most of the routes, with the exception of Lynx and The Great Flake are very dirty and covered with lichen, take a stiff brush and be prepared to ab to clean them.

Lovely situation, Lynx alone is worth the walk in.

Approach notes

Walk up from either the Fox and Hounds pub, or the Darmoor Inn on the A386.

Approach time: 45mins
