This summit is listed in Deweys (England), Pennine Peaks hill lists.
This summit has been climbed in 3 logbooks. The most remote gritstone outcrop in the world! 4 miles and 1.5 hours walk from the car. All routes are around 8m high and predominantly solos.
The crag now also features a small bouldering to circuit, to complement the routes. Whilst not massive in number the problems are all exceedingly good. The circuit also features potentially the furthest 8A from the road in Britain.
Good topo here.
Approach from the hamlet of Tarnbrook, taking the bridleway at the east end of the hamlet (i.e. not the one to Thorn Crag). Walk 4km up the bridleway/track (which has in recent years been extended to reach the apex of the hill) to a gate in a fence dissecting the track. Turn right and follow the fence (which after a way becomes a wall) until the crag is reached - a further 1.5 km. Access only along access strips and outside of shooting season.
