Slieve Beg © Plinton

Summit of this hill

This summit has been climbed in 6 logbooks.

Hill features

Slieve Beg offers some the best climbing in the Mournes, but suffers from lack of traffic as many are deterred by the extra half-hour's walk from Cove. Many excellent single and multi pitch routes, particularly in the VS-E3 range.

Approach notes

Approach time: 1.5 hours either -

-along the Brandy Pad from Trassey Valley

- along the Annalong Valley

- from Newcastle over the Slieve Donard/Slieve Commedagh col
