Whilst initially unspectacular, Worlow Quarry is easily accessible, sunny, fairly sheltered and has enough fun easy to mid-grade routes to make it a valuable 'quick tick' resource for locals and passers-by alike.
This quarry of fine-grained, red gritstone has largely escaped the soot-blackening that affects so many of its neighbouring crags. It dries quickly after rain and catches the afternoon sun.
From Marsden, follow Carrs Road westwards until it turns into Mount Road, and follow this to the parking spot 1/2 mile after the last houses. Follow the track into the quarry for 5-minutes.
Theres some new routes been done here this year. grubes - 23/Jul/10 |
