Remote and exposed. The rock is finest silvery grit.
The YMC guide recommends the same approach as for Great Wolfrey then walk direct Eastwards over the moor. More direct apporaches are possible but the little pockets of non-access land adjoining Grimwith Reservoir have to be avoided. The ground is swampy just before the crag.
