Big committing routes with some complex approaches.

Seasonal Restrictions

Dates: 1 March to 1 August

Reason: Nesting Birds

Seasonal restriction to protect nesting birds affecting all routes west of  Flimstone Ridge, the Cauldron Area and extending west to Stack Rocks.

33m. Climbs the well-positioned left hand arete of the main wall of Flimstone ridge. Approached by abseil or by traversing then crawling through the fissure along the base of the crag to thread belays. Climb straight up to the arete with some goey moves to gain it on it's right hand side. Climb it to the top grinning from ear to ear.

FA. G.Gibson, H.Gibson 30/Oct/1988.

βeta: The approach involves a small-ish jump across a zawn, followed by a traverse which probably comes in at around VS or thereabouts (easily soloable if you’re there for the E5s, but obviously try not to fall). After that it’s a subterranean journey to the start of the route, where there’s plenty of threads to belay off.
