Garth on 'Static Discharge', Strathyre © Fraser

Crag features

This small sport venue has 20 routes, all of 10 m in length.

Approach notes

Easily seen from Strathyre on the A84 but completely invisible from the small access road beneath it. Turn left off the A84 just past the village shop, over a bridge, and right at the T junction. Follow the road for 1.5 miles until there is a stand of taller conifers next to a slight clearing on the left, opposite a tiny passing place. Continue on for 200m to parking opposite a forest track. Walk back and follow the right edge of the taller conifers to their apex, then continue straight with a small white rock on your right. Soon a small mossy clearing is reached (insitu bottle Aug 2010), trend slightly right from this straight up a conifer tunnel to the crag.

Please note - Prone to excessive seepage after rainfall or frost thaw. Almost all routes unclimbable.

When rain saturates the ground, seep lines usually affect most of the lines, except Electrodynamics (7a***) and Power Surge (6c*)

Great wee crag but the logbook that has all routes climbed os in 1993 is fantasy as many of the routes were not climbed or in some cases not even equipped in 1993!

I'd say the full height of the main face is more like 12 meters.

Strathyre is in Perthshire....
