Whilst these slate climbs are of mediocre quality, the beach setting goes some way to compensate. The lower-offs are in reasonable condition but it is best to treat the bolts as unreliable. The odd style has led to differing opinions on grades.
Take the A379 and park at the north end of Slapton beach. Walk north along the beach for a mile. The climbs start just beyond a grassy hollow.
Please note this is a popular nudist beach due to it's remote location, mainly consisting of the elderly, so please be polite, and use discretion on taking children here.
There now appear to be a few bolted routes here as well. Fatclimber - 27/Jul/09 |
